Our tree comes on Sunday.
Kids both back to decorate it
The positive is they’re now grown up so the decorations aren’t all a couple of feet off the ground (- the years of half decorated trees 
)
That’s pretty much it, but that one is way more tasteful

Bringing the 8ft fucker in from outside this afternoon… we have the Scotty approved 4 screw clampy thing as well… now being used for the 28th time.

Kitten was fine, she helped set it up and tested stuff and then pretty much ignored it.
Until after I got into bed.
We had some stern finger wagging, a “shutting in the kitchen” and finally she admitted defeat abou 12:30am
She just helped me get MiL’s 3 ft one into it’s stand and then organised a procession of honour up the stairs that took almost an hour

Mission more complicated as tree now frozen in bucket of water its been sat in for last week… probably killed it now…. have sat bucket in bigger bucket if hot water to try and defrost the fucker slowly
This is a new low for me and Mrs MoM now giving me the ‘dumbfuck of a husband and to think I could have married Michael McGregor who went to Oxford, was 6’4’’ and rowed and then became a human rights lawyer for Amnesty International’ look of disappointment as she has to wait a few hours before decorating can begin… The Merriment has not gotten off to a good start…

… apparently I have now cleaned the wood burner too well… removing the crusty ash layer that retains heat… I however, know better that this has been there since the last service and must be removed for the sweep and service… my enjoyment of pointing this superior knowledge out was short lived as MrsMOM pointed out that the service/sweep was booked for Early Feb as earliest they could do… and now means fire will be less good over Christmas … this is the second time I have received the grim stare if disappointment today… FFS
