:labour: New Old Labour in trouble

Called this weeks ago.

Welcome to a terrifying new world. The one where I predict things correctly :lou_sunglasses:

Sounds more like Vaz was nailing someone rather than being nailed

:lou_wink:

No need to worry. They vote ukip or tory. Natural choice of any racist in my experience.

Understand the reasoning behind it, but people survived before these leeches appeared. Suppose they are just another symptom of the heinous treatment the poor can now expect.

This is the trouble with so many things though.

Alcohol, cigarettes, gambling and so on.

They all fall into the same category of harming the consumer population (on aggregate of course - yes, there are some consistently winning gamblers and people most people drink within moderation etc.etc.)

But the point remains that as soon as you set the precedent of banning things for the public’s ‘own good’, its very difficult to justify allowing other contentious things that people might take issue with.

So split, or disrupt for another year? Split is very risky for their careers and disruption could end in deselection(worse for their careers) if the membership stays behind Corbyn. As i said before, i don’t see a future for them if they split, so this thread should still be going strong next year. They have to go if they can’t accept the vote.

No need to ban people’s ability to get a short term loan, just stop the present loan sharking. Much lower interest(especially if repayments overrun) and a much tougher legal framework(adequately policed).

I have to admit that I have seen improvements with loan companies in the last 18 months or so - it was basically open season 3 years ago but there do seem to be more strict guidelines in place now. Still, the vetting process leaves a lot to be desired.

Bit harsh calling them cunts don’t you think?

Regarding the Vaz thing. Now that the seal has broken, I would be entirely unsurprised if we saw a bunch of other revelations emerging in the coming weeks.

Ministry Bent Police@ianpuddick

Hacks have told #Vaz about further revelations which will be published He not be able to weather this storm #KeithVaz

Funny that he hasn’t really denied anything…

And his allies who are coming out saying he hasn’t broken any laws need to firstly check the legal situation on drug use, and secondly shut the fuck up before their own careers get sucked down into the Vaz whirlpool of shit and scandal.

He’s now making Cecil Parkinson look like a nice bloke.

I ain’t been following v.closely, but I thought he only had the Poppers? You have to be v.careful, cos if you’re proposing that taking poppers and having sex orgies with rent boys should be Illegal, you’re basically outlawing all of Gay Culture, which is v.bad + homophobic.

Check out Chuka :lou_facepalm_2:

Paul Taylor@papingu

Chuka; says Corbyn must stand down, yet no such demand for #KeithVaz. Fucking incredible.

They were taking coke as well, and he happens to be on a select committee looking into prostitution.

I think there are other revelations to come.

Point of order, he didn’t take coke he only paid for the coke that the male prozzies were taking (and had purchased beforehand!)

Well that’s what I mean, giving rent boys money for their gear isn’t illegal, that’s just like a gratuity or tipping a waiter in a restaurant. I don’t see what’s wrong with that.

Not been following this thread, but takeit Kinnock has been knocked over by a wave again?
