He can continue to be as dull as he wants if the results keep coming.
Totally, I will admit I avoid his press conferences and post match interviews but as long as we keep the performances and points racking up I will be happy.
I didnt mean to call Puel out about his English. i just think it would be a good idea to explain the word āinterestingā to him.
I loved his goal celebration (real passion) and I am actually beggining to think he is a better manager than Koeman.
We have got stuffed at City both times in the last two seasons. today we had no Mane, a dubious left back, and a team and particulaly a main striker that played a European game three days ago. Koeman as far as i can remember never had his hands tied that much.
Thought our left back looked better than our right back today.
Yeah Iād say Cuco had an off day, even more impressive from McQueen considering he had very little support on that left side. I think back to the Bilbao friendly and I thought McQueen looked decidedly average, not anymore.
Watched the match in a busy London pub. A few saints fans in there and a lot of others awaiting the later game - presumably a lot were Utd fans, given that about 1/3 of the pub celebrated our goal. A difficult match but a top defensive and midfield performance. Again, thought Austinās lack of movement cost us a bit but in all, three days after Milan, an excellent result against the mega-millions blues.
Austin needs to get on the diet and fitness program we gave fat fuck but superbly handsome and Rickie when he arrive from Brizzleā¦
It shows how far weāve come that we can get a result like that after losing so cruelly in San Siro .
All played well today , particularly VvD & OR . Personally I thought Austin has worked really hard on his game and is bending to how Claude wants a forward to play . His all round game is far better than it was . McQueenās week is a boys own story and Targetts back up spot must be in doubt once Ryan is back .
Forster 5. Can kick a ball miles and knows his angles. Seems a little slow at times which is a bit disappointing. Better keeper than I thought he was but he didnāt have to do a lot.
Martina. 5. Ok. Knackered for the last 20-30 mins. Doesnāt take the ball back all the way behind his head and then drops it in like a kid when throwing in.
Fonte 6. Getting there again.
VVD. Meh. Why bother with a mark? Heās VVD. Barca will come calling and weāll tell them to do one.
McQueen. 5. Needs to learn to use his right foot and take players on more - he can actually do it. Whatever Southend did to him helped: Iād put him ahead of Targett now.
Romeu. The usual 8 or so. Chelsea got £5m we got a bargain. 6 year deal please.
Clasie. 5. Did a lot of work. Is actually more physical and faster than I thought and plays intelligently and then has a brain fart the next second. Bit strange about his wind problem.
Davis. Same as Clasie, but spelt differently. Probably farts less.
Tadic. 6 Started well. Had the MC defence on toast and then decided to get a bit knackered 2nd half,
Austin. Actually won quite a bit in the air. It didnāt go anywhere mostly but he did better in that department. Will give him a 6 even though his shot at the end was too easy to save.
Redmond. Terrible. He can have a 7 just because he harried them a lot, kept the ball well, moved it on well and scored. But he did look a bit dead on his feet in the end.
Hojbjerg. Has good feet on him and is tenacious. Very surprised he actually made a mistake or two. Still a bit one-footed but could aspire to be half as good as I was in my day (dream). Have a 7 and an ice-cream with chocolate bits on it.
Boufal. Good appreciation of space and where players are. Looks about 10 and somewhat skinny like he got dragged off the street and put in a man-sized kit. Plainly way off speed atm. 6.
JWP. Passed the ball forwards. Sometimes well, once a bit of a āWell as no one else is gonna run for it, Iād better run after it like 6 year olds doā. Not on long enough but wasnāt the crab of old.
Puel. Terrible, terrible. Not only is he playing āyoofā from that awful academy that we should shut down (copyright, R Koeman 2015/16 ish) but they seem to have a clue as to what to do and arenāt giving it back to FF every other pass just to make sure he doesnāt get cold (most considerate of RK that was) and we actually play football (I donāt pay money to watch football, let me see Brunhilda instead!).
Disappointed to have dropped two points but otherwise itās better than supporting (insert name of crap footy team here).
Burp
Peul always says interesting. I think itās his way of getting interviews over and done with. His grasp of English suggests he has a good latent base there because the improvement is very good and I do expect him to be better than Wenger long before the 20-year mark.
Anyway, who can argue with āinteresting possibilitiesā?
I think it is much less than 0.5% and coming from Southampton you tend to know about ships that sink.
We canāt blame Puel too much for saying āinterestingā a lot. I think it might be all Iād say, given the context.
Now Iām sure that despite living in France at the time (probs) Puel would have had a lot of time for world snooker. Back in the 80s, the roost was ruled by one Steve āInterestingā Davis, not really challenged until Stephen āGordonā Hendry arrived on the scene.
Puel has arrived at a club where one of the players is called Steve Davis, yet is not actually Steve āInterestingā Davis, which is pretty interesting in itself.
If Iād have landed the Saints job, Iām not sure Iād have said anything else*.
* although the interviewing panel were total arseholes when I pointed this all out. They said things like āirrelevantā and āhow the fuck did you get in here?ā and āsecurity!ā.
If that is the standard career path then I look forward to our manager launching his own DJ career in the future.

I was tempted to go and see Steveās set at Glastonbury last year.
But not that tempted.
Quite a limited playlist of artists I would imagine - Pink, Black, Yello, Blueā¦
I made the girls pause the TV to announce this joke, RB.
Unfortunately, they found it less interesting than Steve āInterestingā Davis.
No accounting for taste, though. Those same people watch the X-Factor.
