Making the move away from Apple

It has bugger all to do with a mobile phone obsession. It’s a shocking business decision that’ll confine their market to their acolytes. They’ve eschewed a global standard to make money. Can’t help but see it as cynical.

Pap are you really SOOO serious about everything in life? You will give yourself stress induced cardiovascular problems mate… you need to relax a bit on some subjects. Not everything in life is worth such vexation :lou_facepalm_2: :lou_lol:

… A big company decides to do something that may fuck itself over… why the fuck do you care or why should anyone apart form Apple shareholders? Really dont undrstand how a company eshewing a global standard and risking losing some customers is that much of an issue… especially for those that eschew the company’s products anyway… just seems like an unnecessary obsession to me…

I know. We’ve got this dude on our forum, will argue about literally anything. I need to calm down. Who wants to end up like that? :lou_sunglasses:

Yes, mate. It works at about the same speed as my brain!

Although, i have developed a pavlovian response to opening up a brower and learned how to type in pornhub with my eyes closed.

Really? I am active in 3 threads posting a POV - you want to paint that as ‘arguing about anything’ - whatever… :lou_eyes_to_sky:

And there was me thinking a healthy dose of irreverance was necessary… there is simple to solution.

I think, Chutters, it’s more to do with the fact that Apple know that the Apple sheeple will queue up to buy the phone the day it is released and that they will pay for the new stuff just because it’s Apple! Meh it’s their choice I guess.

You say you have a choice, I made a choice, I don’t buy Apple because of their business model. My latest phone is a Samsung, I like it, before that I had HTC, Nokia whatever.

I’m not denigrating their phones, Apple did a lot to kickstart the mobile and tablet market, but for me personally I hate iOS and the way it works (or I can’t get on with it)

That is the point though - there is no need - one might even argue that the ‘innovation’ and change is whats needed to atract new customers with the current being satisfied with their current model? The point is that at every Apple release, there is a media moan… why? You either want to buy a new phone and its normal that tech is new some current stuff might not work, or you dont if its not your thing… just dont get the hysteria ove ra lack of a headphone socket on a phone…

“Why do they keep changing things?” - angry of Scotland.

pap, now you seem to be arguing my poiint for me… Excellent

Change is good, but it does not you have to rush out an buy the latest… that is Choice which is also good… Apple is just providing CHOICE that is all, as do all other manufacturers/brands…

If you are critical of Apple for looking to exploit brand loyalty, fair enough, but then ALL brands do that through different means, and some much more subtle than most consumer will even recognise… Apple is just in your face about it, some might even argue that the transparency is more ethical as a result?

Oddly enough, Chutters - no one has suggested that anyone sits coiled up like a greased consumerist ferret, ready with the readies on release.

Once again, I believe you may well be arguing with yourself. Have a word with him, will ya? :lou_lol:

Oddly enough, Pappers - the words lemming and sheep have been used in various POVs which suggests otherwise

Once again, I believe you are the only one who seems to have an issue here… not commenting on the post or POV but dare I say it - the posters ‘habits’… you Pap are the only one who keeps bring up the ‘argue about anything’ and ‘argue with himself’ - maybe if you shout it loud enough and often on here you are hoping the shit will stick and others will jump on your bandwagon? Who knows, who cares, but please dont have a go at me for maybe being inconsiderate of what might offend other posters, when you take that approach yourself - unless you lack the self awareness… but I suspect you are smarter than that.

Interestingly, I do have to wonder why this all seems to have started post Brexit thread… maybe I am paranoid, but you seem to bearing a grudge for some reason. :lou_eyes_to_sky:

Occam’s Razor, as many have told me in the past.

You’re vociferously and quite inexplicably arguing against a point that no-one has made but yourself.

I also doubt I’m the only person to have noticed your nascent truculence.

:lou_facepalm_2: Whatever…the above post makes my point entirely- have it your own way - there have been 2 posters that felt a sting based on two things that really do concern me… you have taken that personnally and have since then been perpetuating a myth that I am somehow transforming into a savage and beastly poster without any consideration for folks feelings - maybe you do need to check the definition of irony, because your recent posts and continued false prescience do you no favours… that said its your ball so to speak, the great thing about these things is I dont have to play the game.

Been interesting at times, passionate at others and funny as fuck on plenty of occasions, but I cant be arsed anymore with you taking every opportunity to criticise…really is a waste of both our time under those circumstances so let me do you a favour and say goodbye.I am sure you will be happier for it.

So do we like the headphones or not?

Bloke I follow on Twitter says they’re abysmal.

Never owned an iPhone and never will. Last phone i bought was a Sony Xperia z3 compact. Excellent phone, amazing picture(anyone that has seen a video on my phone always praises the pic quality, including iPhone owners), great camera and it’s fully waterproof(guaranteed for half an hour under water).Never have to pay for apps and it cost half the price of an iPhone6(released at the same time).

Personally, apple are for people that are happy to be mugged, as long as they can wave something around that has a picture of a half eaten piece of fruit on it. Some people will buy anything, if it’s marketed correctly.

i use my iphone for everyday tasks, my samsung galaxy phone i use only for ringing my iphone when I’ve mislaid it, and my Sony Xperia z3 compact is what weighs down the loose papers on my desk. All three phones are quite useful to me in their own way, but if I could only keep one, it would be the iphone srs.
