Koeman at Finch Farm with his agent?

koeman says he is pleased to join a club “with real ambition”. The little tosser is having a dig at us!

Hope that means Mane will be staying and that we can introduce the term Ass Hat into a decent chant!!

He seems to have ducked the chance to thank Saints - we were the club that recognised his potential and gave him a chance in the Premier League when others wouldn’t.

But we’ve already discovered that he’s not the bloke we thought he was, so let’s move on.

Nice digs back by the club :lou_lol:

Nice to see that all tied up neatly…we get shot of The Cameleon…they pay for his 7th and 6 place seasons…and he gets to see how many promises and star players they can keep. I think it’s going to be a fun forthcoming season. :lou_lol:

Interestingly or perhaps not surprisingly sfc have not thanked Ron in their statement. Similar to when lallana left. Looking forward to koemans double page thanks to the fans :lou_wink:

I bet the PR people had a lot of fun putting that together. How can we say “fuck you Ron” in a professional and polite way?

Nailed it.

I thought I would be upset when he finally went but to be frank (or to be Franks Cousin) I am glad he is gone now. After Jack’s post I just thought, ok Ron, thanks very much for the last 2 years, which have been great, but time for us to go our own ways now. He has got a tough old job ahead of him. Not the Barcelona, Arsenal or Netherlands that we were all expecting, but a mid table, once almost big club with a lot of fans with very high expectations. Good luck with that mush. Looking foward to the new guy now. Bring it on!

What is it about fans from Liverpool and their sense of entitlement?

Yeah, it’s not the fact he left - it’s the way he went about it that irks.

Not going to try re-write history, dude did do a good job. We were excellent 2nd half of the season, even if he did semi-stumble across that winning formula, he made it work and he deserves credit for it. That said, there is still a part of me that thinks “what could have been” this season, especially with that shocking run at the end of '15.

After the summer of '14, this just doesn’t really concern me. I found Jack’s post(s) interesting, but I am taking it with a pinch of salt. I’m sure there is truth in there, but I’m sure there is an element of PR propaganda to it as well - which is fair enough. I do think it is a shame he is leaving, but I’m not going to get overly worked up about it. I think we are in a better place now then we are then.

Strangely, I’m actually a bit excited about the next chapter. Having someone with the stature of Ron won’t have done the club any harm, especially with the last 2 seasons. We are an attractive proposition to managers and players a like. I’m not really worried.

Life goes on, #WeMarchOn

Corrected it for you BT. No worries

Interesting view from a chappie in the Guardian right here.

This is the bit that I find so curious:

What swung it for Koeman was the promise from Everton’s new majority shareholder, Farhad Moshiri, that he will be given the biggest transfer budget in the club’s history, plus the proceeds from the anticipated sale of Romelu Lukaku and possible sale of John Stones. Although reinforcements are needed in various areas, the presence of Ross Barkley, James McCarthy, Gerard Deulofeu and Seamus Coleman gives Koeman a solid base.

He’s still going to have to sell his best players. I often said last season Everton should be doing better given their squad. But I think taking Stones & Lukaku out doesn’t leave them in great shape. I’m still not totally sold on Barkley, he’s obviously very talented, but I don’t think he knows what type of player he is/wants to be yet. Though maybe that was Martinez? McCarthy is good, but not overly special. Deulofeu, was pretty anonymous last season - though was decent in his first spell.

Other than that, I don’t think their squad is anything special. With personalities like Hibbert & Osman leaving (not in the greatest of manners, either), and people like Jagielka & Baines look to have their best days behind them.

The £150m figure sounds a lot, but it’s not actually _ that much _ the way football is right now. As the piece says, with all that, there are raised expectations. Will, say £150m spent to finish 8th be good enough? Still think it is a big risk for him - it’s a similar challenge to here, with less certainty and stability, albeit granted there may well be a few more millions he’s dealing with now, both personally and professionally.

No, I think what swung it for Koeman was money.
