šŸ šŸŒ ICC Cricket World Cup 2019

Who made them favourites?
Rankings mean nothing unless you win something, how many have Australia won and where are they ranked and how are they playing?
Thrashing Pakistan in a bilateral means nothing in a competition.

So if you’re saying it is valid then you must be totally underwhelmed with the performances? I half expected them. Plunkett, what does he have to do to get in the team? Vince? Is shite total and utter wank. Archer needs to be told to bowl full and off stump and his skills aren’t there yet to bowl rising deliveries, Morgan has a poker face but his legacy will be one of total and utter failure, home track, 4 years and abject failure with talent.
Players that said need to stand up and man the fuck up, as I said if this team were Australian they’d win it easily.
Mentally weak.

The rain and damp weather has put paid to hard pitches and high scoring games, the soft cunts didn’t think of that yet this melt with a magners knew if it rained it’d slow us down considerably.

:india: v :windies: today

India won the toss and chose to bat.

They are playing with heart and intelligence and are currently 87/1 from 18

Sharma out early doors caught behind, there was a noise but (even with slow mos) it was difficult to tell whether it was bat or pad. 3rd Umpire was convinced it was bat so off he went!!

Oh, it’s being played at Old Trafford which is currently bathed in glorious sunshine.

Rahul gone for 48 b Holder

Holder to Rahul, OUT , BOWLED! No fifty for KL Rahul, as the ball jags in with the natural angle, and from a length, and just kisses the top of off-stump. The perfect ball in many ways, as Rahul is caught on the half-cock, unsure of how far forward to stretch

KL Rahul b Holder 48 (64b 6x4 0x6) SR: 75.00

Between Innings - India got 268 for 7

Well India made hard work of staying unbeaten didn’t they :rofl:

Thats simply not true, play the game more intelligently and this wouldn’t happen, salty little bastard.

I’m sure that Johnny Bairstow knows that it isn’t your style to derive pleasure from defeat, @Barry-Sanchez.

I was just about to post that same article and make a pointed comment to @Barry-Sanchez

It’s funny that when we were winning playing the same style it wasn’t an issue. Now we’re not winning we’ve got to change tack…strange

IIWinning style against whom, on what wickets and what trophy did we win?

I’d rather we lost all games for 4 years and won a World Cup, people and I am not being offensive here seem to know a limited amount about cricket and how it works. our big bat hard hitting style works on ECB prepared wickets, how are we abroad? How are we now on ICC prepared wickets that are slow?

We should have known this and how they made it neutral wickets which is only proper and correct, no excuses, I notice the West Indies are getting the same flack of Ambrose as well.

Wise up guys.

Hmm, off the top of my head, and this is just ODIs not T20 (which can be a lottery) or Test matches :-

We drew abroad against the Windies
We comfortably won a 5 game series in Sri Lanka
We won a 5 game series in New Zealand (that one was back and forth IIRC)

Yes we haven’t won any trophies but we have won more than our fair share of games abroad.

You’re forgetting that Barry knows everything about everything and is never wrong.

Meanwhile, today we have :sri_lanka: v :south_africa: at Chester-le-street

South Africa won the toss and chose to bowl, got Sri Lanka out first ball.

Sri Lanka are currently 14-1 from 2 overs.

Correct.

So that’s classed as a success?
Be honest.

Contentious i know, but for me the whole shape and dynamic of the team changed when Archer was picked. Yes, i know he has been taking wickets, but so were Willey and Curran, and they can also bat. Willey in particular can feel hard done by after being left out of the squad entirely after performing well, especially his death bowling. I watched a good part of the India/Windies game yesterday and India were impressive, we will do very well to get anything out of the game on Sunday, especially at Edgbaston where the young Kiwi left arm spinner was turning it sideways the other day.

Vaughan i can just about tolerate, but regarding Peterson i have to agree with the normally gentile Andrew Strauss who, mistakenly thinking the microphone was turned off a few years ago whilst commentating on Sky as Peterson was picked out strolling round the boundary, described him to his fellow commentators as ā€œa complete and utter cuntā€, live. A wonderful moment.

Actually, with the lack of trophies to be had in world cricket, yes

Like I keep saying, we were ranked number one before the tournament and were favourites to win it (with India). What can be better than the plaudits of your peers??

Sri Lanka 68/2 from 10 overs BTW
