You’re probably right. When i used to go no one young worried about tickets, as there was always a friendly local that would show you an alternative entrance for a small donation.

Just watching the BBC coverage of what looks like a Great set from Radiohead
finishing, it seems, on some crowd pleasers, but they haven’t dumbed it down and seemto have kept the peeps off their guard throughout.

Don’t agree with you about the set. May have been the mix on TV, but it sounded poor - & my TV can belt out a good tune - the crowd seemed to be singing along though so who am I to say otherwise?
Radiohead absolutely owned that stage. Probably about as good a performance as i’ve heard on there for years!

Was that the 17th time Radiohead have played Glastonbury? I can’t remember, the headliners get worse for this, they should have gone for ACDC 3/4 years ago now its too late, Guns and Roses this year?
Glastonbury now solely relies on bizarre and alternative as their headline as this middle of the road affair offering is awful.
And I say this as someone who loves it, it needs it freshness back, more youth less middle aged weekenders and more rock and alternative headliners or mainstage efforts, Iron Maiden were right and I admire them for their principles on refusing to play. Would have been great though.

I know most don’t consider themselves middle of the road but I hardly think advocating Iron Maiden and ACDC to play AT a middle class middle aged festival is that, now the Foo Fighters are middle of the road.
