A rare pub gig as The Zucchinis return to the Duck Inn this Friday 18 July.
An extended 1st set of 70’s Pop/Mod/New wave anthems some of which we haven’t played in a long time. Then the usual Sing along classics 2nd set.
Be great to see some friendly faces ![]()
Leicester Square Theatre tonight, a play/musical about the life of Wilko Johnson. Wonderful evening, and the cast were joined onstage at the end by guest stars Norman Watt-Roy and Wilko’s son, Simon Wilkinson.
- How did we not know about this?
- OK so Stonehenge was a thing in the 1st movie so this could be something
- English Heritage are more prim & proper than my Grandma, how did they ever agree to this after their history with "concerts & Hippies?
This sounds vvery encouraging for the new film/album/World Tour
I was at this wonderful event on Wednesday.
And did Blue Monday in the encore.
Seen him twice at Glasto
Which really impressed my 2 lads
Arrived San Francisco Tuesday. Elbow playing Fox Theatre, Oakland, Wednesday. It would have been rude not to go as I don’t think they’ve played Southampton or Skatesville for 15 years.
Bloody immaculate gig.
What?
No Golden Circle?
Proper gig that.
No idea what you’re on about. Another typo?
Did you pay a premium price to stand so close to the stage?
Did they have dynamic pricing or did you just pay a sensible price?
Neither of those = proper concert
(Luckily Saints will never have dynamic pricing for matches or they’ll be giving them away soon
One price 66 USD to stand in stalls. There was a “Theatre bar “ area in the centre (see photo) which was extra. Not required. Had a bar just behind me, although 17USD a pint was hard to er. Swallow.
I was at the front of the 2nd level with a table to lean/ rest pint on. Found myself next to a bloke who had been born in Spain, then lived in Chelmsford from aged 6 - 19, before moving out here. He was a Chelsea fan and we took great delight in seeing an idiot ex-pat Leeds fan being shown out by security half way through. I had encountered the twat the day before, watching the England game in Haight Ashbury and so avoided him like the plague at the gig.
Ouch. No wonder breweries are closing.
But then when I keft the sandpit 6 1/2 years ago it was $15 odd a pint
And you really gotta be an uver twat to get thrown out of an Elbow gig jeez
This is a bit more buzz raising than Saints Brass walking down the touchline for the 500th or so time
