:pl: :fulhamfc: Fulham v Southampton :saintsfc: (Live on :sky_logo: sports)

Absolute shithouse of a game against truly useless opposition.

Could tell from the off we weren’t scoring today. Why start Shane Long against relegation strugglers? Everyone knows that’s not his bag and he’s only of any use against Arsenal’s typically ancient back line.

Real missed opportunity for 3 points here given we never bloody beat West Ham

Missing a few players and it showed but we are bound to have a few sticky patches throughout the season. All in all i’m pretty happy with 25 points and 8th at this stage. You?

Thanks for the perspective. We fans can lose it sometimes

Thought Diallo did ok. Apart from his shooting.

What shooting was that? :smirk:

Yeah a solid full debut for him, if not awe inspiring. Something to build on for him though.

The air shot was worthy of me on a bad golf day.

Same here and I can’t even play golf.

What’s the point of detailing the rules only to ignore them. Arm away from the body, moving towards the ball. Hit below the shirt, give them an advantage.

Jon Moss.

Disappointing, but let us remember their last home result was a draw with Liverpool

Very pedestrian today. When we upped the pace we looked dangerous, but that hardly ever happened. Fortunately Fulham were very poor up front. Happy with a point at the end but it just shows how thin the squad is.

I will settle for the point. Bear in mind the spine of our side was missing, in hindsight it is obvious that we wouldn’t and couldn’t just seamlessly carry on playing as we have been. Shane Long I thought was poor, in the first half I don’t think his name was mentioned once in the commentary. This was always going to be the problem, once the inevitable mid season injuries, suspensions etc start arriving, the optimism starts to fall away, our first choice starting eleven is a match for any of them, as we have shown so far. The next few weeks, with our match winners missing, when we have to improvise will show how far we have really come. In this context it was an OK result today, two goals ruled out and a stunning Prowsey free kick that was inches away from being possibly the goal of the season, with a cruel bounce and spin denying Che following up. We must stay positive, onwards and upwards.

And I thought it was an encouraging debut for Diallo.
Can see
he will fit in, could see him looking to pick out longer more incisive forward passes.
Not Oriel yet obviously, some wayward passes & positioning but encouraging

That it though. It should be the system not any particular player that stars. We completely changed out corner routine and looked shite for it. And subs have to be trusted to be able to impact proceedings too
