Seems the earthquake didn’t even leave a Panama hat.
When I think of the number of times I’ve watched England huff, puff and struggle to break down a clearly inferior team (normally with little or no success), I’m not about to quibble over a few deficiencies in today’s performance. Yes, we’ll need to focus better and make damn sure we don’t give the ball away against Belgium, but I think that knowing you’re up against such good opposition will make a difference to the players.
For now, I’m just astonished, and in a very good way.
That will be the bottles of wine last night and the pint of Bacardi & Coke.
And the hour in the gym and hour in the pool today for the physio session.
Sneaked a peep at the history and the 86 has normally been 74-78 So thanks and the 100 day exercise plan for Paris should help.
Meanwhile the one in the right leg scraped on the kneecap was kind of a 5th minute of injury time goal scream tbh. Left one was ok
England manager Gareth Southgate said he “didn’t particularly like” his side’s performance despite beating Panama 6-1 to secure qualification to the knockout stages of the World Cup.
Harry Kane hit a hat-trick while John Stones (two) and Jesse Lingard also scored as Southgate’s side recorded their biggest win at a finals.
However, Southgate believes his side can play even better.
“I didn’t like the start and I didn’t like their goal at the end,” he said.
“I guess the bits in the middle were pretty good, but I am being hyper-critical,” Southgate added with a smile.
