So 2 things I’d change after yesterday’s race and from previous ones.
- Don’t let them change tyres during a red flag, body parts yes, tyres no
- Don’t give them DRS if they are following a back marker, Max has benefited twice from getting DRS off of back markers, in Austin and Yesterday when they were following Tsunoda

I would add that you cannot give back a place in a DRS zone or at the very least you cannot overtake for 30 seconds

That race wasn’t decided on the track, it was decided in the Control Centre. Hamilton bested him for the whole race except the last lap. Farce.
That is a most unsatisfactory way of resolving a world championship
We’re a Max house, so we are quite pleased with the outcome.

Strategic decision at the end not to pull Lewis in for new tyres cost him?
Don’t think so, he wasn’t far enough ahead and Max would have stayed out on the track, Masi would have let the race run to the end because Red Bull would have leant on him, like they leant on him to get the race re-started, contravening the FIA’s own regulations.
Shit way to lose the World Championship but there you have it.

Kris Jefferson: Regardless of the outcome of this race, serious questions have to be asked about the suitability of Michael Masi as race director. Not only today, but this season has been plagued by inconsistency and panicked decisions.

“The Sporting director of the race partially applied some rules that created the last lap ‘battle’. The race should have finished under the safety car or waited until all lapped cars passed. Which would have meant finishing under the safety car. Merc played their strategy to the rules in the rule book, which were rewritten about 2 mins from the end.”
