Plymouth hold Liverpool to a 0-0 draw at Anfield.
You must be gutted Bazza. You have also managed the impossible. You are now officially a more tedious poster than Dalek. Well done fella.
Conte is going to appeal against John Terryās red card, I think he is appealing because as when it fails Terry will be banned for 4 games instead of 3 which is one game less that Conte has to pick him.
Edited due to shite electronics
That draw, oh the magic of getting the same team in both cup compitions (again)
At home to The Arseā¦if we get through.
Well Puel will be pleased we can solely concentrate on the League. I wonder who he rotates for this one?

#sad
Arsenal must be cacking themselves!
Claude Puel couldnāt inspire the plague to spreadā¦
That down to him,as well then? He gets about, doesnāt he. Ruined the club, ruined the f.a cup, but stopped the plague from spreading.
Lost interest in the thread ever so slightly, after we got thumped by Arsenal.
But I thought I would revive it, from now to the final, not only because it is quarter final weekend, but because of the mighty Lincoln amazing adventure thus far.
Here are the fixtures this weekend.
Saturday 11th March
THE EMIRATES FA CUP - Quarter Finals
Middlesbrough v Manchester City 12:15
Arsenal v Lincoln City 17:30
Sunday 12th March
Tottenham Hotspur v Millwall 14:00
Monday 13th March
Chelsea v Manchester United 19:45
Iām hoping that Boro, Lincoln, Millwall and Chelsea win, but I fear it will be the opposite, apart from the Chelsea.
Anyway here are some key dates in Lincoln history, to celebrate their achievement so far.
1893 - Best team in Lincolnshire - beat Grimsby Town 4-2 (Stick that in your Haddock)
1902 - Got to the last 16 of the FA Cup - one round further than boring Grimsby.
1948 - Won Divison 3 North. And the Mariners went down. Ok, from Division 1, but it was a poor standard then!
1976 (great year) Ran away in division 4. Managed by Graham Taylor before Elton John nicked him. (Fact - no pop star ever employed an ex Grimsby boss)
early 80ās - nearly got into division 2 (canāt remember how Grimsby were getting on)
1998 The John Beck hoofers - could kick balls further than other Lincolnshire teams. Promoted (just after Beck got sacked.
2005 Beat Grimsby in a league game. DVD on game still available!
2017 Big FA Cup run. In all the papers. None of the articles mentions Grimsby, Scunthorpe or North Ferriby. Maybe going back in into the football league⦠stuff dreams are made of.
Thanks to my friend James who is a huge Lincoln fan!
And Southampton got to the final lost 2-1 to Sheffield united
Ok here is another thing that has annoyed me about the FA Cup and has done in past seasons, but this season has been much worse. āTopā clubs have been knocked out, by resting players, for the league and for European football purposes. This has annoyed me hugely, as at the start of the thread, I had said about the magic of this competition, which every season seems to be under valued. You just need to think back to under 2 weeks ago and how special our day out was, then amagine that was the FA Cup!
I was talking to my father in law who is a Norwich fan, and he put the below point to me.
In January 2016, Norwich City were sitting in 14th position in the premier league having won 3 matches out of 4 over Christmas. He was optimistic and turned up to a tough FA Cup tie with Man City. We put out a very changed side and lost the match. But he was more interested in manager Alex Neil reaction, by shrugging off the defeat saying he would be judged by league results. The next 9 saw them gain 1 point and included a hammering at Bournemouth, who had taken the cup more seriously and had a more successful run than Norwich.
By contrast in January 2017, Bouremouth were sitting comfortably in the premier league, as they went into their FA Cup 3rd round tie at Millwall. They made 10 changes and by all accounts played terrible and since then they have got 1 point from 5 matches and have lost to Hull and Palace, who have managed to drag Bournemouth into a relegation scrap.
With these examples why is it seen that clubs benefit from disregarding the FA Cup? At the very least you could ask how their form could have been any worse, if they had taken the Cup seriously. I have spoken to fans of many clubs and they are all annoyed by this, and why risk negative PR for no apparent footballing benefit.
After our great day out just a couple of weeks ago, I would ask our great club to go all out to try and win ALL league and cup games with the strongest team possible, and what ever will be, will be!
This seasonās competition is dead to me, I would cross the road and ignore it if I saw it in the street.
And wouldnāt piss on it if it was on fire?
A very good point.
Actually the other example that Iād add to your list (from a little while ago admittedly, but it sticks in my head) is Arsenal in the 2007/2008 season when they were drawn away against United, their main title rivals, in the FA Cup.
Wenger played a weakened team essentially to avoid his first XI taking a knock of confidence from being beaten by their main rivals for the title chase, lost 4-0, and seemingly caused exactly the effect he wanted to avoid.
Their next game was in the infamous 2-2 at Birmingham (with captain Gallas crying) and from then on, their season collapsed.
Not on topic but @mrtrampoline ⦠youāre a confident fella with a lot to say, start the Spurs thread !! You havenāt done it yet this season and hero status awaits.
Do bear in mind that, with only 2 games this month, itās vitally important to pick up points so weāre not playing catch up, so donāt fuck it up. Be aware that a good Sotonians match day thread starter is like a twelfth man, so thereās no room for trepidation or anxiety ⦠think you can cope ?
Bugger ⦠heās gone offline !!!
