I’ve complained to Pap about that often enough but, like the french riot police, he just sits idly by and does nothing until it’s too late!!
Who is going to discipline UEFA
Nice article about the problems between Russian and English fans and how UEFA have exacerbated the situation
As soon as the draw was made in December, just a month after the terror attacks in Paris that killed 130 people, British and French authorities realised that a return to the scene of clashes between England supporters and locals during the 1998 World Cup was a huge headache.
Everyone knew it and yet nothing was done about it. As has become the way of modern tournaments, as they have become ever more complex and gargantuan, organisers held fast to their policy of scheduling matches into pre-selected slots.
That not only left England facing Russia in Marseille but both sets of fans then decamping to head north at the same time. So Russia will play Slovakia in Lille on Wednesday, before England and Wales clash in the industrial town of Lens – just 25 miles away – a day later.
Not only that, England are facing Wales – with the numbers expected to exceed those who made it to Marseille, given the proximity to Calais – in the smallest city in the tournament.
As such French authorities are planning to virtually shut the city down and restrict entry to ticket holders. Instead, England fans were officially advised to head for Lille instead – where they will immediately run into the Russians again.
“If you’ve not got a ticket, don’t go to Lens. Go to Lille instead, where there’s a bigger fanzone. We know Brits will get where water can’t in terms of sporting events but people will not get in stadiums without a ticket. If you’ve not got a ticket, don’t travel,” was the advice from assistant chief constable Mark Roberts, the lead for football policing in the UK, before the tournament after a meeting with local organisers.
Meanwhile Lyon – a much bigger city with a new stadium that caters for more than 59,000 – will host a match between Albania and Romania. The complex, toxic brew that led to the distressing scenes in Marseille is not easily unpicked when it comes to apportioning blame.
Super Sunday - Romania v Albania…
The big one!
Quality planning by UEFA. Is anyone surprised?
I’d like to drop Kane, Sterling, Lallana, Alli, Rooney, Smalling, Rose, Walker and Hart for the next game pls Roy. Ur still not allowed to pick Milner or Henderson tho.
Looks like the French are going for immediate trials for those arrested for violence - Whilst this might be harsh, the french need to make an example of these 10 (inc 6 Brits). Give them sufficiently tough sentences and maybe, just maybe, it might be enough of a shock to some of these pillocks into behaving themselves
Oh I did not know that! This really annoys me when clicking on links and I do it myself! doh! I just copy the link in and away I go. You learn something new everyday!
Shame about the 150 Russian MMA hooligans that have escaped arrest…
Following violence in Marseille 6 British, 3 French & an Austrian arrested. 150 suspected Russians escaped arrest.

True UEFA may have been negligent in the choice of venues…but lets be honest, it should never really need to be a concern if Russian and English youth (not calling them fans because they are not) were not allowed to travel or simply had a fucking brain cell that meant they were not interested in this sort shit…
Also I think we need to recognise there are two lots of problem here. There is the ‘organised’ firm type fuckwittage as seen by the Russians with masks and gloves / locals v the ‘Cant handle the booze’ after a day of drinking and getting all fucking stupid when provoked and feeling the need to through chairs… Think this time the English are in the latter category… Fucking morons the lot of them, but important to differentiate between the two?
The finals have only just started and I’ve already almost filled my Panini sticker book!

Should be a Panini sticker album for this kind of comment too. Lazy, GA, very lazy.
Not sure it is. If a club ornational side dissassociate themselves from those who do this kind of shit, eg ‘not in our name you dont’ then they have no ‘afiliation’ - yes its a cliche, but its a truism, because they do not represent fans or the country. they are just a bunch of immature and ignorant fuckwits who cant handle their booze and use a bit of ‘football culta’ and the psuedo psychology of ‘tribulism’ to justify a bit of a pissed up ruck… When folk go on about ‘culture’ it should be repeated that this was only a phenomenon that began in the early 70s… what about the culture of football between 1860s and 1970s, when this sort of thing did not even exist? It only started when the demographic of those attending changed from grandpa, dad and son going together up to the early 70s, to majority of teenagers and youth left unsupervised… what could possibly go wrong?
Attempts to try and intellectualise this behavoiour (and there have been many) through talk of tribulism and such, is seriously fucking deluded - its stupid kids who think its fun… anything more is suspeiciosly like trying to justify it.
So the football is off again. There is always something a little strange about watching football during the day in the week.
Spain 0-0 Czech Rep - 10 mins.
Is it just me or is ITV’s coverage less “exciting” than the BBC’s??
They need to get a little more excited. Bit dull they are, but just then they got all excited about a counter attack that did not even happen!
That said, I have to admit (as much as it pains me to do so) I have really enjoyed Slaven Bilic’s punditry. Much more interesting than the dull folk on le beeb.
Bilic has got the same haircut as Rooney.
