Vintage performance from Root. Ball moved around far less than I had feared.
Apparently the Dukes balls go shift after 30 overs or so and don’t do so much. Before NZ changed it the previous ball was moving a fair bit.
I think that’s why Root and Foakes got a hurry on this morning to try and negate the new ball…
That seems very likely. if we had needed 40 or 50 when NZ took the new ball the outcome could have been different.
