200-3 off 16.3!

Makes sense leaving out Daws on his home ground :man_facepalming:

What? The Daws who just hot a wicket 2nd ball?

:man_facepalming::man_facepalming::man_facepalming::man_facepalming:

My bad. My quick glance at the team with my shit eyesight.

Robert Prevost said he was surprised by the decision and would not be available for any Sundays as he had other engagements.

First test against India at Headingly today…

Lovely day for batting all the 'taters say, Stokes wins toss and chose to bowl!!

India are untroubled on 91-0 just before lunch.

But wait, Carse gets Rahul to waft at one that moves and he’s pouched by Root.

91-1 from 24.5 overs

Carse to Rahul, OUT

the first wicket falls! Out of the blue, Rahul climbs into another drive, on a wide line, Carse found a bit of late movement away, and the batter ended up flicking at it rather than clobbering it. It’s a fizzing edge into Root’s upturned hands at first slip. With six minutes to go until lunch, Carse has his first Test wicket on English soil

And with one comes 2, Sudharsan pouched by Smith without troubling the scorers…

Thick edge down leg side from Stokes

92-2 from 25.4 and that is lunch…

Stokes to B Sai Sudharsan, OUT

leg-sided from Stokes again, no doubt about that one! What a horrible way for Sudharsan to go, it’s a strangle, but a played-for strangle! More swing to confound the new boy as he tries to put bat on ball, Smith leaps wonderfully to his right, clings on in both hands, a palpable nick on its way!

Sai Sudharsan c †Smith b Stokes 0 (4b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0

India looking very comfortable on a batting track 200/2

Jaiswal 100* but suffering from cramp

India 215-2 from 51

359-3 at close of play
This could be an immense total for India

Ridiculous decision to put India in. Watched the pundits, Atherton, Nasser etc before the start of play looking at the pitch, a hot sunny day, flat pitch, an absolute no brainer to bat first. They were frightened of Jasprit Bumrah. As it stands now India will probably pile on the runs tomorrow, by lunch, or just after the game will already be out of England’s reach. They will have to face Bumrah sometime.

Oh.

This is the first time in Test cricket history that the top six have got three hundreds and two ducks.

Yeah.
That wprked
