Mo Ali confirms that this was his last Test as well, he won’t be making any more come backs. Pleased that he was able to finish on a bit of a high today, he bowled really well this afternoon and deserved his wickets. Really nice gesture from Broad insisting on Moeen walking off with him ahead of the team. With our next Test match six months away I fancy this could have been Jimmy Anderson’s last Test as well, he was clearly showing he was way past his best, his bowling all series has been innocuous and rarely troubled the Aussies. A series too far I reckon and I think sentiment played a big part in his selection, especially at the Oval, but what a fabulous career he’s had. Certainly Josh Tongue should have played the last two Tests, he’s a great prospect with genuine pace. He must have felt hard done by being left out for the last two.
Anyway it’s only good manners that with the Aussies giving us Head we should return the gesture by giving them Tongue.

I’m sorry, I’ll get my coat!

Love the fact we have created a debate… made style of play in tests a relevant discussion. I dont think there is a right or wrong, but for me, I love the fact that we are not so much Bazball, but as an analogy, we are the Buzzball Lightyear of cricket… We may not always win, but we lose with style

And as much as it is great to watch us atm, it is great to watch the contrast in styles.
A ā€œgolden age of Entertainmentā€ not for every team as you really do need the players to be able to do it

Brydon Carst on debut 2 overs 3 runs 1 wkt
Pulled it back from tgat 1st over
31-2 off 5

50-4 from 8

They will all get tired soon. They won’t be used to playing in such long games.

139-8 good spell by Carse 3- 20 something
Think the wicket is sticky but probably they are 15-20 runs short

JB has certainly grown since he busted himself up

And out for 4, 2nd ball

Couple of stagnant overs then pedal to metal
51-1 off 5 chasing 140
