On this subject, there is an article in the Guardian suggesting that wealthier parents create a glass floor for kids from disadvantaged backgrounds due to the opportunities they can exploit with connections and wealth.

Literally just read another article along the same lines in the Indy.

I can’t help but just think this is life, those with more money will always be more advantaged, the same as those with better genes etc. It’s a pain in the arse, but until we remove the theory of money and any sort of superiority in society, it’ll never happen.

You’re not on about the better genes again, are you? What was it last time…those who go to private school have better genes and are the superior race? Something along those lines.

Oh yeah, I remember you made a very poor point, I countered, then you had a tourrettes attack. Was classic.

You countered by saying rich people are the best and the rest of us were vermin, or words to that effect. The evidence is there for us all to see.

Classic Fatso.

Just for the record, CS, no one has ever identified a gene or set of genes for intelligence, social status, race or any other social construct.

On the ‘glass floor’ argument, the stupidest person I’ve ever taught was from Eton. He went straight from my tutorials to the officers’ mess.
