It’s Bremer 0-8 Bayern Munich with 25 minutes to go.

I’m off to Wales tomorrow. Do you think they will let me in?

Nice to see us being clinical against lower league opposition, keeps the first team on their toes.

Boom Mo again

Elyounoussi has finally got a goal and an assist for Saints. If it hadn’t come against League 2 opposition you’d be forgiven for getting excited.

6-0 :lou_sunglasses:

We’re scoring so many BBC website can’t keep up.

When did we last score 6 away from home?

I went to Newport when Saints played them in the FA Cup in January 1968. We won 3 - 2.
The game was notable as their old Somerton Park ground was by far the worst ground I’ve ever been to.
The playing surface was OK but where the rectangle of the pitch conflicted with the oval of the Speedway track, the corners of the pitch were cut off. This problem was solved by coconut matting from which corners were taken.

The terracing was an H&S nightmare if had existed at the time. They consisted of rotting wooden railway sleepers with gaps between which, you could lose a small boy. However small boys were afforded the best view in the house. On the grass between each goal and the Speedway track were 5 rows of church hall chairs where the local junior school lads watched the game.

All was quiet as we reached a 3 - 0 lead but when they pulled back 2 late goals it took 5 minutes to clear the pitch of a couple of hundred small boys swarming the pitch.

A memorable game 53 years ago.
