[Done Deal] (to Spurs) : Toby Alderweireld in talks today

No links that I can readily find, but Jos’s transfer (permenant rather than the original loan) went through outside of the transfer window because we already held his registration.

This sounds like a job for Redslo. Where’s he at?

He will sign.

Yeah, I mean think so. You did me a solid with Wanyama, but on other hand, I think you soiled the bed with that other bro. The brazilian striker. Forget his name.

Yeah leandro damiao - but read the small print, I just said fee had been agreed and the place was cleared for talks. Not my fault if he didn’t like big shopping centre plus Ikea + bedford place and/or Italian midgets.

No.

I trust Optimus trousers and no-one else.

He might be a bit verbose, and he might repeat himself a fair bit, but, I don’t know, those two qualities remind me of someone I really like.

I just can’t think who he is.

Hang on, Let me just google verbose and I’ll find out.

…oh…

it’s you…

I wonder if Simon Peach (who I think broke the story - marginally before Optimus trousers) knows.

Can anyone ping him on Twitter?

Delicious.

His twitter timeline has it pretty much covered

Free Toby? So there’s a glitch in the contract and we’re getting him for free?! Good times.

The Daily Mail article says this:

Even if Southampton can prove selling Alderweireld to Spurs would breach terms of last season’s loan agreement, the Belgian will still have the final say in where he ends up.

They quote Tottenham having offered £45k a week in wages, surely that’s within our wages range??

Easily, I reckon. I get the feeling we’ve had this one in the bag for a bit. It is rather amusing that we’ve pulled the cat at the bag right now, after Levy has had his well-publicised trip to Madrid all over the meda. It is what Captain Jack Sparrow might refer to as the opportune moment.
