Desert Island Discs

Bletch dear boy, get over yourself, you are talking to a man who owns one of the original vinyl copies of Five Leaves Left …(sadly could never find originals of Bryter Layter or Pink Moon) - purchased in 1985 from a record shop in Ramsgate at a time when the was more affordable than today as he was still not known to the mainstream. Five Leaves Left is undoubtedly one of the finest Debuts ever… but Pnk moon’s desolation and melancholy are there for the darker moments on said island.

FFS Bletch I’d take them all but as I bought “Way To Blue” in the early '90s I thought I’ll take a “best of” as it leaves me another 7 choices. Amateur Shmamateur. :lou_facepalm_2:

Bearsy - that device does not look wholesome.

Nick Drake, you know who he is? I would have thought you would be more familiar with the work of his sister Gabrielle…in various 1970s Brit sex comedy flicks such as

Actually, I like your argument and the way you framed it and the fact that you’re still wrong.

Bletch…i never felt magic as crazy as this

So we agree that I’m correct?

Good.

For Bletch : no doubt as beautiful as this song :lou_is_a_flirt:

I am still practicing this , but still cant play itlike this man

not bad at all this lad

I’m just trying to help here Gay.

I don’t want you sitting on an Island, sobbing your heart out to a coconut you’ve christened Jeff, explaining to him how you brought the wrong Nick Drake album with you.

Now, when the oboe comes in during this, if you don’t get either a) a shiver down your spine, or b) a stonking hard-on, then you’re musically dead.

Probably.

Stonking hardon…usually when I played it at open mike nights at Uni in 1989/90… making all the girls wet and boys hard :lou_is_a_flirt:

But you see, I would have ACDC for the uppers and ‘Road’ to bring me down again

Lol, good old Sotonians. You start a thread in the afternoon, then come back later at night and see it has 32 replies – and think “ohh good, it must be going well!!!” :lou_wink_2: Then you discover that just the three of them were of the kind you were hoping for in the OP.

I couldn’t even narrow down to only eight Pearl Jam songs, let alone only eight individual tracks overall. Being that such a choice for most would likely take ages to arrive at, and this is a fast moving ‘on the go’ kind of forum – I wanted to offer more choice and options to make it easier (hoping more people would give it a go).

Sorry if that annoyed you so much mate.

@ Bear – I’m very concerned at your reading habits mate. It would be a shame to lose you from the forum, but I respect your life (or not as the case may be) choices. Just make sure you don’t fuck it up, or it would prove to be a painful waste of your time. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

No idea what is going on with the bold text. Not intentional, and it seems not only my post is like it either.

Text has a hardon for Nick Drake

Before I commit to my Luxery item, I need to know if this Desert Island has uninterrupted power supply and top of the line innernet service!!

Meanwhile narrowed my 8 CDs down to about 50 now!!

Me and Milky Joe can’t agree on our choices yet…apart from Stool Pigeon.
