The North has soul and also its shitholes, but lets face it Fareham, Eastleigh, Gosport, Totton, Basingstoke, Andover and many many more towns are bland and incredibly dull due in most parts to being satelite towns for London, people in turn pay a small fortune to live in a rabbit hutch and then pay £4000-£5000 to commute for 3-4hours a day to said place, you couldn’t make it up.

The South does have Brighton, Oxford, Cambridge and London but it also has Hastings, Folkestone, Luton and Southend which are fucking right offs.

To finish the South has beautiful Countryside but by fuck the towns are pretentious and overpriced and funnily fucking well boring with no grit and soul, the North everytime for that no question.

Do you live in a quarry?

Why, yes of course we all do.

Now, I have lived in a few places in my time and have gradually moved more and more North. I cannot really get any more North now without changing country.

I have lived in my home in Carlisle for 2 weeks, but been on holiday for a week and it feels like home. I love place, everyone are really friendly and chatty. They seem very genuine and go out their way to help. This kind of attitude makes you feel positive and want to help when you can. It really is a lovely place… I’m staying!

Went to Southend recently. Don’t ever make me go back!

Lived in North Shields, South Shields and Pallion in Sunderland about 10 years ago. Loved them all in their own different ways. Some stuning contryside and coastline and generally lovely people. Even the alleged bank robber and family I ended up spending an xmas dinner with (long story). Before I was 5 and setteld in Southampton I lived all over the place, a caravan then a tower block in Wales, Lancaster, Dorset countryside, Milton Keynes and Cambridge. Just spent some more time in North Norfolk. Absolutely picturesque and unspoilt but would probably die of boredom there. I am finding more and more that if you go to work and then home again to recover to go back to work the following day sometimes where you are really doesn’t matter.

Anyway back to topic. Dennis. Seems a top guy.

They are only like this until they steal your unborn child to sacrifice to their Dark Lord.

Hardly. More a Southampton-centric view, Icke boy.

What about London, that doesn’t belong in any of those regions…

CB is correct. London is north of Winchester, mush.

Most of the South are so far up London’s arse they lose their own identity, its like a 16 years but for Cities, I love London but most if its an overpricd shitehole, respect to Brighton though for having their own soul and identity.
The North and its Cities have their own identity within its boundaries, the South hasn’t and the towns are a grey drab boring affair, so whilst these Jordan Belforts plod about London they return to a drab satellite town with no culture or talking point other than their £350,000 match box terrace…

Winchester quite possibly the most pretentious overpriced gaff going, how long is it before a Wintonian tells you it used the be the capital of England?

Winchester is the North.

I come from Hampshire and I am proud that Winchester was the capital anything north of that is possiibly a desolate wasteland inhabited by flat cap whippet breeding northerners with ferrets for trouser companions.

Why are you proud that Winchester was an ancient capital? What a ridiculous notion and thought process ha ha! Alfred possibly admire but why would someone be proud that Winchester was an ancient capital of England, ha ha fuck me!

Icke is an overner.

He’s also from Leicester. Leicester! Saying it twice makes it sound all the more ridiculous.

Barry it is part of our history why not be proud of it ? We cannot now change it so should embrace it.

Plus it rubs the noses of those pretentious northerners who live in London that they are only second choice of the capital after Winchester.

Why be proud of it? What did you do to achieve it? Socially does it make you stand a bit taller? Winchester may be on the tourist over 90 trail but it does not feature for the new classes of people, why would it? Salisbury has a better cathedral, Bath pisses all over it for things to do and culture, Cantebury is well superior, York as well, Winchester is well meh.

The outskirks like Twyford are lovely (up their own arse but lovely), Shawford etc etc but I wouldn’t live there as there are far better places to live aorund there, Curdridge and Durley for starters and you can shove your King Alfred up your hoop or dunk it in your shite cheap white wine.

York is crap, Bazza. Take it from me.

Well, he’s conquered that particular manor. Proof? Why, the official Sotonians Twitter avatar, of course

Irrefutable, I say.

At least Gary Lineker constrained his activities to encouraging obesity in footy mad kids. Icke is a territorial conqueror!
