I have no respect for him.
He wasted his God given talent.
uhm, How many of can truly say we have not wasted some of our own and achieved all we could have done? If our lives where under the cynical scrutiny of the public eye, would we be happy with how it would be seen?
He was just like so many of us, pulled in different directions, succumbed to temptations etc. Because he had the wealth, they were probably just easier to access and succumb to?
As for Cheating, well we did get em back that world cup where Mike Bassett was in charge

Like he’s the only footballer who ever cheated. Or got led down the path of sex and drugs and rock n roll after retirement, history is littered with them. He didn’t waste his God given talent when he was playing that’s for sure. He was arguably the greatest footballer of all time, as acknowledged by the flood of tributes pouring in from his peers. And if that tweet from Shilton is genuine and not a parody account he should be fucking ashamed of himself. Especially coming from him, his private life doesn’t stand much scrutiny does it. He probably tweeted it from the pub, or more likely the bookies.
Hat’s off to whoever videoed this, keeping the camera trained on him alone. This is how i shall be remembering him, not obsessing about a handball from 35 years ago, as if that defines the man. And no, I’m not Scottish!

I very much doubt that the Shilton “tweet” is from Shilton himself, and it’s probably not even from twitter. I also doubt that many people would actually take it at face value.
