Strangely enough I watched an Australian movie on Saturday called ‘Gettin Square’, and Joe Bugner was in it playing a heavy. I thought he looked familiar and waited for the credits and it was him. I remembered then that he had moved to Aussie when he retired from boxing. There was a lot more of him in the movie, he’d really piled on the pounds.
A great movie by the way, highly recommended. RIP.
The news makes me pine for Sportsnight with Coleman, Harry Carpente, then Granstand and World of Sport before the whole think went to shit with Dad having to go to the cinema to watch a fight
