⚰ Death

Her sheday 'gone tomorrow

More of a crunchie than a Wispa tbh

Well I thought she was a great singer, and Broken English was a superb album. Just watched a youtube video of her singing The Ballad of Lucy Jordan live in Paris, wonderful. She was also stunningly beautiful as a young woman, and didn’t age too badly either. She was renowned as a party girl, I liked her honest admission that she “fucked three members of the Rolling Stones and decided that the lead singer was the best bet!” David Bowie memorably described her as the ‘original good time that was had by all’. RIP Marianne, you gave it a right good go.

He will soon be in a can like his horse

To early ?

This won’t mean anything to anyone here, but I’ve just heard this bloke died on Friday.

https://www.bennolan.co.uk/

We were at college together, training on the same course. We were the same age, give or take a couple of weeks. We had a little R and B band playing the local venues for beer money. I’d actually been trying to meet up with him last year, and had planned to try again in April when we’re scheduled to go to Nottingham for a couple of days. Really gutted by this one.

It’s a strange thing when a great friend passes away. Grief doesn’t always hit immediately but it can hit when you don’t expect it. Maybe it’s a matter of facing your own mortality.
Last year I felt bullet proof, now 3 months after my mate passed I’m struggling. :frowning:

To where and from

I’ll let you know.
I have been on a cruise before you know.

I have spent my life on “cruises” big boats Rigs even some little boats always comes down to who is paying for it.

I have refused with all wives to go on a cruise holiday they have all said but we want to go answer has always been go then see you when you get back none of them went :smile:

I worked in the QE2 hospital back in the day, the hospital was situated in the centre of the ship which was considered the most stable, it was on six deck, as was our accommodation which was handy. The morgue was indeed down in the basement, it was surprisingly busy too, especially on the world cruises which had many extremely old passengers having their last hurrah and pushing the boat out so to speak before the relatives got their paws on the savings! Had three peg it in one memorable day once, including one old guy who projectile vomited then collapsed across the table in the Tables of the World restaurant one night, which put rather a damper on the evening for his fellow diners.

My oldies are currently bobbing around Japan and the pacific for a month wasting my inheritance - reckon this might be the last biggie for them - I think the long hauls are becoming a little too much for them.

I am set to go on Explora from Istanbul to Athens in June - now i have discovered I actually like cruises (fucking annoying that was) I suspect we will be off on them regularly

Well we went through all the options for June and settled on 2 weeks around the British Isles, ticking off places we should have already been in our younger days.
Pictures to follow…late June.
