Why if the ref knows the rules on penalties do they turn a blind eye to the keepers racing off their line to cut down the angle. They can move across the goal line before the kick but not to advance off the line.

Not a word from the taters about it.

Unlucky Kaspar.

You can’t really be too disheartened if your last penalty taker, after seeing which way the goalie was going, decided to fire it straight at him.

Russia get to the semis, I reckon.

Christ. England v Russia

Won’t happen but could have done if we didn’t lose to Colombia on Penalties

I know I’m flogging a dead horse but here is the rule,
"The goalkeeper must stand on the goal line between the goal posts until the ball is kicked. Lateral movement is allowed, but the goalkeeper is not permitted to come off the goal line by stepping or lunging forward until the ball is in play. "

Write a letter to maradona

He’ll just give you the middle finger

The thing is penalty shoot-outs are GAME DEFINING EVENTS and yet VAR is not called upon to monitor them. What the fuck is the use of VAR if they are only used in open play. Is the goalkeeper allowed to tackle the penalty taker?
It makes no sense.
FFS someone agree with me.

Did you lose money because of this? #nosympathy #sameforbothsides

No no money lost but a foul for both side is still a foul. If you want to even it up change the law, not ignore it.

What annoys me is how the pundits go on about what a great save it was but as the law stands no it not a great save it’s a fuckin’ foul save.

I’d like to take this opportunity to apologise for my team’s performances in this tournament. They do not represent the dinger values, and have been a stain on the dinger brand.

If it makes you feel any better, Terry butcher agrees that the keepers were committing sins. This is what he wrote on the live commentary on BBC.

“Both goalkeepers were a long way off their line for most of those penalties. It was a dreadful game with some dreadful penalties, but some decent goalkeeping. Denmark are a tough team to beat but they have done their country proud.”

Yep it’s the huge African Elephant in the room that no referee can see. They and their assistant on the line fail abysmally in their jobs.
