Claude

Oh, we on about Wembley? … thought we we’re talking about the old Crystal Palace venue :lou_lol:

Ricky van Wolfswinkel was a bad call sure, he is playing well now and scoring, just proves things don’t always work out, like Puel.

Have a look and see how he has done back at Vitesse.

Good cup run. Very good display in a final. Mid table finish. But Puel hasnt worked out.

:lou_facepalm_2:

No Puel hasn’t worked out hence this discussion.
You I presume by that think this season and he a success?

I had a look back to see what ppl was expectation:

http://sotonians.com/chat/season-expectations-2016-2017

I said 8th, and then downgraded 2 places when I saw Puel face, which seems pretty On The Money.

Barry, get back on the politics mate, your football chat is even more infuriatingly tunnel visioned than your obsession with Islam.

Its not just the position in the table its the points gap. Take a look look the ‘long table’. I dont know who puts it together but its clear we struggling.

Im trying to get my head round everybodies argument to keep going as we are but the facts are showing we are in reverse

Success at the start of the season was defined a good cup run and a mid table finish. So yes, mission accomplished.

Barry’s main complaint seems to be that Claude’s recent games have lacked excitement - and I have to agree on that.

But I think that having nothing to play for is nicer than being heartbroken when Sunderland or Swansea score a goal on some distant pitch that sends us to the Championship.

We are safe.

We rebuild.

Then we judge Claude.

oh ok i will let claude have another season, but if it doesn’t go well i will hold r-boy personally responsible.

That’s all very well, but apparently Puel is about to be sacked for rowing with the players, so it is a moot point!

Nothing wrong in that bar I don’t have any faith in him, I also don’t think he can improve, others disagree that’s football.

He has done nothing to change my opinion of him from 6 months ago, he is poor and I would like a replacement.

Would rowing with the players inspire solidarity and togetherness?

He should be embarrassed about the level of play he has gotten out of Jay Rod. In FM 2016 and 2017 I got Jay playing to an almost world class level. It is just a matter of finding the right role for him and letting him find his feet with a run of games. I know I make it seem easy and we can’t all be top level managers but Claude really should be doing better.

With the same squad of players I won title, league cup, fa cup & europa league this season, and ur right on jrod he had a 40 goal season for me. One thing I did was adjust jrod training schedule slightly to keep him Top Condition. It’s that kind of attention to detail that seperates ur truly top managers from mere journeymen.

Don’t get carried away mate, you’ve still got to win the UEFA Super Cup, the European Supa Dupa Club Trophy, FIFA World Club Supa Dupa Cup and the Charity Shield, before you can truly claim greatness.

Ahead of the curve? Most managers het sacked these days, so I think you’re playing the averages and will say I told you so when it invariably happens.

Barry claiming to be ahead of the curve is one of the funnier moments of 2017.

Or should that be 2018?!
