Aah Fuck it.
âCharlie donât surf!â
Iâve never seen it, but will make the effort to do so now.
Visually extraordinary and to my ear the use of music and sound effects was dramatically different too. It was like a silent movie in that respect. Iâm not a film expert so perhaps all films from that era were the same, or perhaps itâs because Laughtonâs experience goes back before the talkies?
Thanks for sharing that.
Oh my god, yes! I saw this in the cinema a couple of years ago, and thought it an amazing film, but can never remember the name to see it again. So thank you Ted!
That is very strange, but intriguing, GB.
Doesnât she also sing a song at some point - âin heaven, everythingâs fineâ or something like that. Years and years since I saw Eraserhead, mind, so I could be misremembering.
Great clips, I love Millerâs Crossing Bletch (Coen Bros). And Lynch.
Clip from a Terence Malick film, the cameraman is Vittorio Storare who also shot Apocalypse Now and is a bit of a genius. I just love this scene and how it builds.
The whole film was shot during âthe magic hourâ, they only filmed during the time between the sun setting and darkness.
,
Raging Bull is in my top 1o too GB
Better montage, I may have developed a man crush for Roger Deakins
