Chelsea v Saints match thread

I went out last night. Was going out anyway, but had a good skinful to celebrate. Watching the repeat of MOTD at the moment. Jose is not coming across as very convincing. His assertion that everything would have been okay had they got the pen at 1-1 is incredibly blinkered and a bit disrespectful. He needs to realise that there was only one team at Stamford Bridge yesterday. It was not the champions.

Ah, SADMAN. Such a rare combination of gifts. Pace, Strength, Trickery, Finishing, the ability to see + make a Good Pass under pressure, SADMAN has got the Lot! The worst you can say about him is he used to be inconsistent, but I ain’t even seeing that anymore.

Whenever he goes will be too soon, and whatever we get for him, won’t be enough.

Benteke ÂŁ32m?

Pelle and Mane have elevated their values enormously this year, games like yesterday really help.

If we cannot hold onto them next summer we will get HUGE money, and experience suggests that we’ll dig out another couple of gems and repeat.

No doubt we are already lining up the next Mane - but we still have a while to enjoy the current Mane.

And I still remember him and Pelle in early matches looking like neither of them could trap a bag of cement!

Yep, I remember watching Pelle in the pre-season frienly against Leverkusen and having a conversation with my Uncle along the lines of: “What the fuck have we bought that big lump for? He’s absolutely useless. Could be a long hard season.” He then scored about 10 in 12.

I’ve always thought Mane would be brilliant. Quick feet see.

Quick feet, but sometimes even he doesn’t know where they are going, which must add to the confusion for defenders.

Either way, what a weekend!!

Did anyone else think that the MoTD editing of the Jose interview was overly sympathetic to him. I watched the full interview on Sky when it was unedited and he led with a tirade on the refereeing and penalty claim which led me to believe he was “clearly unhinged”. It was quite extraordinary for anyone who had just watched the whole game…beyond deluded.

MoTD led with the bit about unacceptable mistakes by his players which was likely less in dispute and didn’t make him look as much a looney than he really was last night.

I loved the Saints fans that video-bombed him.

Fortunately, because of the wonderful internetty thingy, you can see the full mentalist 6 and a half minute delusional rant here:

Don’t fucking come to Chelsea Football Club, Fatso!

Come on Ladies and Gents whers the links to the highlights I’ve been out and unable to see anything but the Chelsea goal so far?

Without revisiting it in full am I right in thinking that the unhinged one accused referees of being dishonest?

His comments about the game alone will land him with a charge.

Unless of course the FA investigate it in the same style as Physiogate, then they won’t bother to look at the mad tirade.

Full match. Best I can do :

I think those Saints fans pushed him over the edge! Ha ha ha!

I care about football, but not quite that much!

You say this, but when I was in my teens and early 20’s it was everything. Life moods depended very much on Saints results. I used to get very angry. Now I get annoyed for half hour, then get on with my life, but also still very much appreciate results like yesterday’s and savour it, for as long as possible!

We just need to hang on to Mane, beyond next summer.
