Well done Tramps. Nice early Xmas present.
Well done - please tell us how it all goes.
In detail.
Only just read this thread for the first time since October. (Sat in an indoor play centre while the kids run about). Classic thread, but a couple of points.

I am glad I do not have to worry about this sort of thing, running my own business. Gave up on a career years ago, working for the man/woman.

you could be doing the job below. I love the look on the mans face, looking at the camera. This says to me, it is his turn next! Maybe his first ever go!

Sorry mate, I disagree. You may work for yourself, but you’ve always got a boss.
They’re called customers now. And if you’re lucky, you’ll get shitloads of bosses
On a work related note, it’s week three of being in my new job and I’m very much enjoying it. All of it. I like the commute. It’s relatively painless and just the right amount of time to cross between professional and personal thresholds. I’m liking the challenge. I’m enjoying being able to switch off in the evenings.
Above all else, it’s nice to be around people during the day. I’ve long suspected I needed to regularly be back in the workplace, even if it allowed me a great deal of flexibility in other areas of life, such as Saints games. I had a skip in my step every time I was at a site in my old job. You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone.
I will miss the old place. Longest ever job, and was lucky to work with some fantastic people. Genuinely feeling like a new man at the minute because of the life change. I’m sure that’ll wear off
Poor Mrs pap
Would not change it for the 17 years in accounts. Love working for myself. Get to take kids to school, pick them up, do my own thing, cycle nearly every day. Sorry, but love my work. Love my customers, as they have a time frame to work to, that I set.
It will last a few weeks, or even months if you are lucky, then same old shit. I have been there a few times over the last 10 years. New job and I think all is great, then a couple of things piss me off and back to square one. Maybe a little different for you as you seem to like your job.
When people aren’t sorting out contractual arrangements quickly enough, the magic word is NOT “please”.
It’s “Dubai”
Arf.
You will be punished in a future life for bumping this fucking travesty of a thread!
