I’d say thats 5 or 6 fringe players playing there and he is saying they’re not good enough, we buy better and we buy soon, we need to be honest here our starting XI is ok for our standing (being carried by some players but all teams are like us) but below that its fucking awful.
NOBODY ATTACKING THAT BALL FROM THE CORNER…crap corner anyway.
JWP has been off the pace since the International break.
Needs dropping Sunday slows us down completely
I hope the club is going to refund the travelling supporters.
I’m trying to get a rebate from Sky.
No.
Eric deserves it.
We told him not to go
Utter pants.
Absolutely dire performance. Dare I say it, very Saintsy.
I’m not disagreeing with the general point about some of these players being bang average to piss poor.
What I am disagreeing with is that Ralph has picked this team and persisted with it in a bid to show the board how shit his third choice right back is. Why? The new owners are football brained and love a stat. I’m sure they can deduce our shortcomings by looking at spreadsheets not watching Jan Valery.
He picked this team because it beat Arsenal by some miracle.
But not reacting, either tactically or with personnel, when the game was only going one way, is all on him. He’s proven nothing other than how stubborn he is. Why not throw on Tella? Even Shane Long. At least he’d have tried and put himself about. But swapping right backs? And taking off the better one of the two on the pitch? What’s the fucking point? Unless KWP was injured I am completely bereft of ideas.
This is coming from me, a big supporter of Ralph. But this performance has been horrific. He picked the team, he failed to react.
I’m actually going to keep watching to hear his post match interview. I’m fascinated how he saw this.
He wanted a bigger squad, said it had more quality (in his opinion) but here we are, no better for it. No injury crisis either. Nights like tonight show lack of desire, tactical awareness and stubborn management.
But apart from that?
Apart from what?
Methinks Cobham is playing the sarcasm card, which ill becomes him.
I gathered that but still didn’t get the joke.
If this result means Burnley stay up and Everton go down then I can live with it.
This.
Totally this
Pretty much the only silver lining I can see so I’ll take it too.
It didn’t rain while I was moving between pubs/waiting for the Uber.
Pissing down now I’m safely home.
That’s a positive
Clearly wasted on this audience
How the fuck can we set up like we did against Citeh, Arse etc then lose so dismally to Norwich, Burnley etc. Something is fundamentally wrong at the club. I don’t know who or what needs to change but if I was the new owner, I’d think that my initial purple patch seemed a long time ago …
Possibly that Burnley etc are desperate to stay up so put in an extra shift but the others are coasting? Probably not, but I’m as perplexed as you tbh.
There was an unusually perceptive remark on the BBC have your say thing, along the lines of the PL now consisting of two clubs with most of the money and most of the talent who win pretty much every game they play, barring the odd glitch. Then there’s 18 other also-rans scrapping it out, any of which can beat any of the other 18 on the day.
That seems like a good summary to me.
