The surprise for me would be if Russia didn’t attempt to influence the US and had no interest in Europe.

The ‘respect’ issue is a challenging one since is it a question Time? Or one of shifting circumstances and information?
for example: we generally respect the democratic general election process which means we wait 5 years if we got it wrong. However, there are circumstances where we potentially should actively demand that be brought forward for example if the elected party when 180degrees against a manifesto promise - would it then be acceptable to ‘disrespect’ the democratic decision and demand a new. Election? I think it would as the deal has been changed. Folks were mid led etc which is not democratic in anyone’s book.
and that is the rub with Brexit? How much needs to differ from what was promised by one side or another and over what time period for there to be review?
I know pap will say ‘40 years’ blah blah blah, but fact remains that there was no real factual insight available and much that was lies… so I fail to see how challenging that bite is disrespecting the vote - the complete lack of truth in the preceding debate was disrespecting the people and the democratic process. IF Brexiteers really believe that the right democratic choice was made and it really is the will of the people irrespective of what we have discovered since, why would they be frightened of another ref say on publication of the deal? When I voted to leave, I voted for a slow, measured process, where we would stay part of the economic community and retain membership of the European Court. Yes, I’m all for Brexit and am waiting for our ‘Norway style’ departure. I exercised my democratic rights like everyone else. So will you remoaners shut the fuck up and accept the country’s democratic decision? We ALL voted for leave along the lines I’ve pointed out. If you voted remain, then hard luck. We’re leaving, Norway style. Okay?
But the vote was leave or stay, none of that Norway shite.
