Attack on a German train

Again, you can’t simply say that a faith doesn’t allow you to be gay. As with all these things, it’s a question of interpretation. Which is, of course, all to do with who’s doing the interpretating. Here’s a quote from Leviticus, frequently used by Christians who don’t like gays:

“If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.”

Pretty conclusive, then, that all three Abrahamic religions not only forbid homosexuality but regard it as a capital offence And yet there are gay Christians, Jews and (I would guess) Muslims who retain their faith and see no conflict in this.

Sectarian violence is something totally different, I didn’t bring up the Mall shopping bomb in Iraq either and that was sectarian, your point is as usual bollocks. I am more than happy to discuss sectarianism in North of Ireland/Ulster if you so wish.

Lot, explain that to me then.

How many openly gay Muslim people do you know, heard of or are in the media? I haven’t and also how can you be gay and a parctising Muslim?

Well this thread has gone well.

Sounds like everyone should take a breathe and step back from Islam / homophobic etc discussions because as far as i can tell no one has made a point that a) is worth debating and b) won’t descend into mudslinging.

Free speech is one thing, but this is just playground stuff at the moment

Christian faiths are just are nearly as bad apart from the CoeE, but we’re going back into the realms of a pick and mix again. Its simply not tolerant of gays whatever way you choose, you can deflect and I’ll keep hammering away, play the post and not the poster so to speak.

It’s about people and not faiths. You mention the CofE as being at least relatively tolerant, and yet there are plenty of Anglican churches that are anything but. In fact, homosexuality is an issue that still threatens to split the Anglican church apart.

In Islam, you will find imams who preach bigotry, hate and intolerance; you will find others who preach tolerance and peacefulness. It’s not about the faith as a whole, it’s about those who preach and teach it.

The Anglican faith averted a split buft they should have and many wanted, the Islamic faith doesn’t allow you to be gay, tolerance isn’t acceptance, far from it, back to parallel lives again.

Lot, explain that to me then.

Explain what to you? The story of Lot from the Old Testament? What’s to explain?

If you adhere to the faith what does it make you? Is it a pick and mix?

Sorry, are you trying to make my point for me here? There’s really no need.

If you adhere to the faith completely then surely you have to be even by default a homophobic and sexist?

That’s strange, because you’ve never seemed to be interested in it before. Probably because they’re not brown.

As explained many times, having a faith is pick an mix, dependent on your sect. what don’t you understand about that? Religion isn’t an all or nothing.

In which case, are all Jews, Christians and Muslims homophobic and sexist?

Of course they are if they believe in it, or course, if they don’t they aren’t a full part of that congregation and are lying to their God, you can’t have a pickand mix and hence as I said the best one of all is the CofE, liberal as such religions are tackling this or trying to but the Muslim World is very very reluctant to do so, it could be religion and culture in some parts as well, right off to the dentist.

Religion is an all or nothing, you can’t pick the bits you don’t iike and throw them away ha ha.

Again wrong Cherts, you are good at this.

Of course you can you fucking melt, that’s the basis of most religions. It’s all about interpretation of text, which has for the most part been translated and changed over time.

You’re a fucking despicable racist, and that’s that. It’s no surprise this country has seen a rise in racist incidents if the population is anything like you.

No you melted whopper thats not, the interpretation is done my scholars and ends in schisms, not Clive down the chippy as he fancies bumming Chertsey, you huge fat whopper.

Who said it’s done by Clive down the chippy? You’re making shit up to justify your racist views, again.
