It’s interesting, because I genuinely see more people of the “PC gone mad” brigade being outraged than those they are supposedly rallying against.
Haha! Alas, as much as it pains me, as I value your high opinion, I can not pretend to to be anything other than be highly vexed and agitated when being forced to listen to the bollock munching warbler.
I know where Barry is coming from, I feel the bit the same sometimes.
If bro came up to me all work all sadface, and said “They’ve painted my door red, so now everyone knows I am Refugee. Ppl are posting turds through my letterbox, and calling me ‘Fugee’. I always fucking hated the Fugees.” I would be such sympathy! I would be so sorry & bad feels, and I would try + help. I’d prob repaint his door.
But if bro come up to me at work all sadface, and i said what’s matter, and he said, “I’m just so upset about all the refugees in Leeds or wherever having their doors painted red. Such injustice! I can’t sleep at night because of it,” I wouldn’t be much sympathy at all, I’d be like, Man Up. You should be worrying more bout that egg stain on ur shirt, and less about refugees in Leeds or wherever. Fkin Tourist.
So in effect most are actually in agreement. In an ideal world where our society welcomes those from all corners of the globe who have been oppressed or are fleeing torture and war or even looking to make a better life for themselves, offereing them free food andservices whilst they get settled is a good thing. Having a practical mechanism to help identify those who should be getting this service is a good thing.
There is just concern that using very visable methods is a) rather uninsensitive given the history doing such things, b) concern that there are some shameful twats who feel compelled to abuse those now so visible.
So Barry, please can you explain howany of the above is connected to ‘mock’ outrage ?
Yes, GA, we all know you don’t like Bush.
Bet you love Joe Cocker though…
And by the way, Kate Bush is flipping great.

How many times did it happen? “One time? Two Time”?
Good try.
Haha do you remember when it used to be cool to like Fugees? I was always resistant, I always fkin hated the Fugees. I was ahead of the curve, I don’t spose even Nigel Farage hated Fugees in 1996 or whatever, when I started hating them.
To be fair, Lauren Hill was always and will always be cool. Wyclef on the other hand was a talentless moron, until he decided to release this masterpiece on us:

People should only care about things that directly affect them. Right?
I wouldn’t go as far as that, ppl can care bout what they want. I was just being v.honest, my personal empathy doesn’t stretch very far. I know that prob makes me part sociopath, or whatever the term is, A Cunt perhaps, but genuine that is How I Feel.
It’s far worse than that, Bear. It makes you a Tory.

True story, I recognise those traits in myself (especially the cunt stuff).
ur my brother, Sarb. I always sensed that.
It’s like Kane and Abel, as penned by one of our Tory fathers!
It was poorly done but jumping to World War II comparisons is cheap point scoring and in poor taste, more so than the initial idea.
‘cheap point scoring’ - why is it that this is so often associated with ‘PC gone mad’ screamers? the fact is ‘marking a social group’ within a society for whatever reasons good or bad, does inevitably lead to comparisons with historic precedents, whatever the intention. Ignoring that is to be at best insensitive, at worst ignorant.
The question should NOT be about whether its good or bad to draw such parallels, but whether it should be relevent to making such decisions today or not… that is a fair question.
Given the rare, but nonetheless shameful incidents of abuse directed at those so marked, suggests its not a good idea.

ohh bitchy
'Fraid Joe getting his cock rubbed with a little help from his friends is just as bad.
However, you are somewhat leading this down the wrong path Cherts… I never said anything about Kate’s bush… which I am sure is perfectly acceptable… just her whiney warbling that vexes so
