Surely you’re not suggesting there’s a corrupt element in the people who run our fine game Kev ? You’ll be inferring that Sky were involved next
Shout to Long as well. Got through a phenomenal amount of work on his own up front.
He frustrates me so much, but i was also worried that if he came off, Arsenal would get more control of the game.
Shane Long: A player that can keep 3 or 4 of the opposing team busy and run more than all of them put together.
If only he had any idea where the ball would go when he kicked it.
Another frustrating but important role played by Shane.
He’ll score soon(and that’s always a good sign).
On the positive, Liverpool will be right in the thick of their title challenge by then and Mane will still be in hibernation.
On the negative, if we beat them they’ll probably be after 5 or 6 of our team in the summer transfer window
Hey 5-6 of our team are always in the transfer window. Claude will now be a managerial genius and the new Wenger.
On the way back from the match . Simple conclusions:
-
Puell is a genius and got the team spot on
-
A hefty dose of Fuck You to Wenger
-
I hope all you Milan, Prague and other glamorous away trippers enyoyed your travels over the results. Tonight was where it was at, same as two seasons ago
-
great to catch up with Lou, Lets Be and S05 tonight
Bloody brilliant
Bucks didn’t go to Milan or Prague code…
Surprised at the stats for Saints against Liverpool head to head since 2003
Saints 6 wins
Liverpool 6 wins
2 draws
The excursions are great fun(apart from the important bit), but tonight was a real display.
Glad you enjoyed it and we’ll done to the 5,560 odd that went. You sounded great(as mentioned already by Pap and Ted).
Some of them Arsenal kids looked very talented. No direction though. Might be time to think about your future careers boys(i hear there’s a club that’s renowned for not only producing talent, but also reviving stalled talent), we even have a thread about it(on second thoughts, ignore that thread. A career will be the last thing you want after reading that).
Mane will be with Senegal at the African Cup of Nations in Gabon. Also Hours will be with Morocco.
Mane will be in Gabon with Senegal in the ACON when the Semi is due to be played.Boufal will be there as well.
I notice that the media are all saying we managed to beat a second string Arsenal and that they were bad.
Not that we were immense and deserved the win on our attacking display and a defense that was not going to be penetrated by the Arse even if we bent over for them.
Yep, this. BBC this morning: “Arsenal made 10 changes and paid the price as they were beaten”. No mention, as usual, of how many changes we made.
Sod them all
I’m not v.keen on the draw. I can already hear the nauseating, biased, sycophant punditry when we play at legendary Anfield stadium second leg.
I’m also bit nervous, cos I promised Barry we would win cup treble, but I was banking on getting a By in the Semis, like Man Utd.
I was at Anfield in 87 - I hope we put up a better show this time.
Does anyone know if Puel reads this forum? I just wondered because it seems a bit of a coincidence that I said we need to start kicking the ball better and in the right directions and then, all of a sudden, we seem to be doing that…
My first thought when I saw both line ups was that we were both putting out “weakened teams.”
Word. How did it come to pass that we’ve got more strength in depth than fkn Arsenal?
Because they and Liverpool have taken a bit of our deadwood?
I remember an Arsenal “reserve” side turning us over in the league at The Dell many years ago. I think it was something like 0 - 2. A result against the Arse is nothing to snear about. They are no mugs which ever team they put out, although having said that Wenger didnt seem too bothered about going out when the final whistle went. Bigger fish to fry.
