70m for VVD

You bloody liar…you know you wouldn’t…you’d keep them dangling on a string for half the summer and then sign for Barcelona.

At the risk of engaging you in another drawn out and tedious debate @thecholulakid , like with my assessment of Claude (which I have a sneaking suspicion you disagreed with), nobody is beating anybody or anything with a stick. Nor am I ‘absolutely fucking deluded’. I am also very well aware of our place within the footballing pyramid.

I haven’t read any recent criticism of the club on this thread over this issue and I certainly haven’t written any. So I don’t really get where your anger is coming from. If you have interpreted something I have said as criticism of the club then I can assure you that wasn’t the intended message. Simply saying it as it is and as it has been in the past with regard to similar player sales.

If the club sells VVD then it will more than likely be against their will. Of course they would rather retain him than sell him to a rival when he has 5 years left on a contract. His value wouldn’t decline in another year, only increase.

That said, it is not in their interests and that of the team to have an unhappy player unsettling the squad, especially the captain. Like with Lallana and hence why they sold Fonte mid-season. Something that they have avoided doing over the last 5 or so years. This would be the justification and understandably so.

NB. The last paragraph is entirely hypothetical as he isn’t kicking up a fuss.

koala has form for getting loaded & lashing out, even on a school night. I wouldn’t take it personal, Simon. He’ll pay for it in the morning.

Phew. I was worried I had unwittingly entered in to an online feud.

That’s not a feud, you cunt!

Year 9 will be paying for it in the morning.

It was probably aimed at SWF @simon-says not you. From the safety of my Sotonians bunker.

Feel free to downvote me. I’m stuck on an odd number of points at the minute and it makes me feel queasy.

This clown reckons Forster’s a decent keeper. Spot on with his VVD eulogy though:

We’re leaving the EU and there is a General Election on Thursday.

Perhaps this isn’t the place, but I will never forgive those fucks for what they did to Rickie Lambert. Ever.

I’ve always been a fan of Rickie Lambert. His game was never about pace, and I always thought he’d continue to be effective in his target man capacity even as age got the better of him. Penalties and free kicks, for a start.

Hindsight shows that not only did they never want him in a playing capacity; they pretty much broke him. I reckon their sole interest was using the poor bugger to get in with other players, tossing him on the Hawthorns scrapheap once he’d served his purpose.

No real run in their first team. Every use of him seemed geared to suggest “ah, Lambo’s not Liverpool standard. Best get rid”, an easy conclusion to come to when you had Suarez in your team the year before.

To use the local vernacular, they were pyar shithouses to Rickie, even if he got a wedge for it.

Fair enough. Have an upvote instead.

I think we should take a leaf out of Koemans book.He played hardball with Victor and Morgan and got another year out of them and has also done it with Lukaku who only has a year left on his contract. He will go this summer but he will get the maximum price.

We should do the same with Virgil at least get another year out of him. I don’t think Liverpool can pay 60 million in cash they will try do palm us off with some of their rejects.

If they get slapped with a transfer ban I would laugh my socks off.

I have been follow this a bit on saintsweb and that directed me to a few liverpool forums & blogs & what-nots, and the prevailing opinion there seems to be that this is the same old southampton squeeling & crying to appease the fans, but our endgame is to sell all our players for as much as possible, cos that’s what we do. Apparently we’re only really annoyed cos the leaks have disrupted the bidding war we planned with Man City & Chelsea. History is on their side, of course, we squeeled and cried and protracted the transfers of Lovren & Lallanas & Clynes & Mane & Whoever Else, but we always took the money in the end.

Maybe I am kid myself, but I feel like this one is different. Maybe we neither want nor need to sell VVD, and our endgame is to keep the cunt for another yr. That possibility don’t seem to have occurred to anyone in Liverpool; it would come as a nasty surprise to them bighead cunts and I would love it!

Good points @smuggins but in all honesty I can’t see the bin-dippers getting a transfer ban.

I also can’t see anyone getting fined an amount that is going to hurt them and stop it happening again. There’s too much cash sloshing around at the top to make a fine other than a temporary inconvenience.

If I vote for VVD, will that keep the Tory cunts out?

Hello, could be quite srs for Liverpool if this is the truth of it:

The Dutch international was flown to Blackpool for a meeting with Klopp, as Liverpool tried to persuade him his future should be at the club.

And after their unauthorised meeting Klopp then messaged him regularly.

I think I have given my opinion on this many many times, if we’re going to be a shop window (the board still fucking treat us as if we’re stupid) we should at least treat the fans with some fucking good football to watch it, otherwise seriously what is the bastard point? Fuck off the academy and do a West Ham or West Brom, where’s the money?

If this is true wtf is VVD doing meeting up with him.

I’d make an issue of this and refuse to sell him to Liverpool under any circumstances … I’d rather have £50 mil off City or Chelsea than £60 mil off those cunts.

… well I probably wouldn’t if it was my own money but you know what I mean :lou_wink_2:
