Quite. I get a bit sick of managers using the stock ā€œI didnā€™t see the incidentā€ card, particularly when as you say, he really couldnā€™t have not seen it. I bet if it had been one of his players getting his leg snapped heā€™d have fucking seen that. ---

To me that felt like a somewhat diplomatic response rather than taking the stance the interviewer was fishing for. Tempered by the post-match buzz perhaps? Had we lost/drawn, he may well have said the opposite. ---

They played it again last night from a different angle in the post match chat and it looks like the defender got a touch on the ball onto Walcottā€™s leg. I was convinced it was a pen but after watching this particular clip I have to say, no pen. ---

Iā€™m sorry but I donā€™t understand what difference that is going to make, no matter the width of the line there will still be the issue where the attackerā€™s line is marginally in front of the defenderā€™s line. What they should do is :- - Make the lines thicker - Centre them on the forward points on the attacker and defender - If thereā€™s space between the lines then theyā€™re offside. - Simples. ---
