BREAKING: Interest in a Ryanair takeover soars as Elon Musk voices intent to buy the airline 
It all started when Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary recently called Elon Musk an “idiot” for insisting that Ryanair planes should be fitted with WiFi.
Musk fired back on X, calling O’Leary an “idiot” who should be “fired.”
The main contention comes down to a disputed figure: The Ryanair boss claimed Starlink internet wouldn’t be feasible due to a 2% fuel burn penalty from fitting the hardware on planes. However, Starlink’s VP claims it’s actually 0.3%, leading many to assume O’Leary is uninformed, or perhaps deserving of Musk’s label.
Over the last few days, Musk has consistently posted on X about wanting to buy the airline, replying to Ryanair posts with comments like, “How much would it cost to buy you?” and, “I really want to put a Ryan in charge of Ryanair. It is your destiny.”
Today, he even launched a poll titled “Buy Ryanair and restore Ryan as their rightful ruler.” The winning response, “F yes” currently has around 80% of the vote from nearly half a million people.
This is a very similar trajectory to when he purchased Twitter back in 2022 for $44 billion, and estimates he’d be purchasing Ryanair for around half that price.
Is he being serious? It’s hard to tell. But one thing is for sure: if he does go ahead and buy the airline, we’ll likely finally see WiFi onboard Europe’s biggest carrier!

I consider myself to be a man who keeps current with events, but this presidency has been fucking exhausting since day one. The only bright spot I can see is that it’s providing a handy preview of the sort of shit that would happen if the Reform scruffs ever get in.
The common wisdom seems to be that all we have to do is wait out the next three years, expecting normality to resume. I’m not sure that’s a safe bet; we thought that during Biden’s term and Trumpism was far from dead - merely dormant.
Hopefully the midterms will happen and he’ll face some level of scrutiny, but it’s important to remember that they’ll be setting the agenda, using the Bannon tactic of flooding the zone with shit so that no-one knows what’s going on.
I’m also far from convinced that Trump will exit in an orderly fashion.
This is a government that’ll tell you a woman didn’t just get murdered by a federal agent and says ownership of Greenland is essential for their security and mining.
The Danes reckon this can all be sorted out and that the mechanisms already exist for security and mining, but I think that’s a naive statement.
The US doesn’t want to mine responsibly; they’ll extract come what may, as anyone who has seen the after-effects of strip-mining will attest.
Trump himself is not going to be happy until he can point to a map and show people how “great” he made America during his term.

The scary thing is that his primary audience does not get the irony. Having had their parents and grandparents fight against this shit.
The fact that Trump is willing to go down this particular route to steamroller his way to greater wealth and power is not surprising given his narcissism and to be honest small brain. But for me the Bannon and Miller combo is the really scary part.
