Predict the Starting Eleven

OK this might not work, but let’s give it a go. We should end up with an ‘average’ Sotonian’s first eleven. In fact we might just end up with an average first eleven anyway.
I’ve gone with the formation that we’ve played most of the way through pre-season. 5-3-2 (or 3-2-3-2)

So, how tough is picking our midfield in that formation?
Can’t believe he’ll play two up front every game, because if he does then two of our midfield surely have to be defensively minded, leaving a lot of, ostensibly, creative players on the bench.
I noticed Gabbiadini playing deeper in the friendlies so maybe both he/ Long will be asked to drop in leaving Austin/Ings as the lone striker on occasion.

Look who isn’t starting - or maybe even getting a game from the midfielders in the squad if you’re picking two DMs.

They’re not injury-type fitness tests are they?
Assumed it’s just the been-on-a-beach-until-last-Monday type fitness tests.
I’m a bit surprised to see Stephens and Redmond starting. Otherwise it is what I was expecting.

Felt we were overrun with 5 at the back AND two forwards on the pitch.
