How about football “fans” don’t shout racist, homophobic, sexist etc stuff at matches anymore? Seems a bit out dated.

Yep, agreed.

My point is that we’re not their yet and if a “secret gay footballer” reveals his identity, it had better be part of a plan to meet those (hopefully) small pockets of abuse with measures that tells them it’s wrong and unacceptable.

I hope the Football League and the FA are involved and ready to act in support of their player/member.
