This seems to be the feel good BS that gets trotted out before every football tournament we’ve taken part in since 1966. Believe me I know, I’m old enough to remember these failures in splendid detail. At least I was old enough to remember our last success, I was taking driving lessons. It was a double success really, we won the World Cup and I passed first time. ---

BA flight to Dubai from LHR. Daytime. Upgraded to 1st. Ham & Pea Soup, Pheasant, fine wines, dessert, Port & Stilton. Coffee. “Would Sir like a Cognac with that?” Um not really a fan. Do you have a nice Single Malt? “Not today Sir, but I could open a bottle of Blue Label just for you” Oh if you insist. Later starting descent- tell me you dont pour the left overs down the sink? “Oh no Sir. Did you like the Blue Label?” Oh yes. “Well Sir we do have a special promotion on our Duty Free BA Pewter Hip Flasks today £7 each. 2 ought to do it” 2? “Well yes, then I can throw the empty bottle away” Take my money. I couldnt resist checking the price in Dubai Duty Free - £100 a bottle. For an upgrade. Loved BA back in the day ---

Blue Label? No age statement blend… 43% (low for £130+), Coloured with E150, chill filtered… the old musty sherry influence diminishes quite quickly and becomes bit chemically, starchy… well over priced,…sorry.
