Ah the old ignoring grey areas line. Evil Saudi are bombing some poor geezer who used to play with The Blowfish But it isn’t. It is a war because Israel are scared of Iran. Iran supports an insurgency, USA and UK cant be anti semitic and don’t want to play so they support the guys doing the shitty work. Phil, this is a proxy war between Iran and Saudi, Israel for once have little to do with this, they’re happy its going on but this is about economy, political and religion between the two nations. They’ve been at it for years and fund all sorts of wars. ---

Well since you mention that, British firms are involved in assisting many of the automated systems to hit their targets, so we bear a greater level of responsibility than mere arms sales. ---

Because we’re an arms manufacturer we have to take responsibility for the deaths it creates? So you blame the Ukrainians for using British made weapons defending their homeland? Or is it merely offensive weapons? ---

Yeah. There is stuff I won’t do on a matter of principle. Turned down a job offer because one of the firm’s clients was a loan shark. I might not have been a bailiff smashing somebody’s door in, but I would have been part of that chain. The UK needs an arms industry. I’d just prefer it to exclusively supply the UK armed forces and no-one else. ---

It’s only really in the post-industrial age that things have changed. And yes, small nations that didn’t have the ingenuity or inclination to defend themselves got fucked. Many of them were a lot older than 31 at the time. ---
