To stop this we need to stop creating refugees and take an active part in solving the world’s problems rather than creating them.

And I’ll add I don’t know if you know but African nations especially the wealthier ones (Egypt, Morocco and South Africa etc etc) have put in far stricter visa restrictions on their poorer neighbours in the last year, people either don’t this or don’t want to know this.
And the biggest elephant in all of the room is remittance, how much money is taken out of an economy and given to another, this sticky plaster approach is not going to work long term.
Long term solutions (brave ones) are needed, not the short term pulled heart strings as that actually kills and abuses more.

Gaddafi gave Libya territorial integrity. We may not have liked him, but the alternative to Gaddafi, a broken Libya with actual fucking slave markets is a whole lot worse.
