What he actually said was that if we carry on playing as we are then the goals, and therefore the wins, will come. It’s pretty obvious that we’re creating chances but not taking them, so I can see where he’s coming from. ---

Anyone else a bit worried about having demotivated players due to Italy, Holland, Ireland, NI failing to qualify for the World Cup? In terms of the rest of the season. When I checked, Cedric wasn’t part of the Portugal squad. I could be wrong though. Has he fallen down the pecking order or just experimenting as they already qualified with ease? Forster is nowhere near the England squad these days either. In terms of this game, big blow Lemina is still missing and Mane and possibly Lallana are fit for them. This is a game to deploy a counter attacking approach but remains to be seen how he will go about it. If we fail to score against this ropey defence then something is truly amiss. Get Hoedt in for set pieces. Not overly confident about this one I’m afraid. ---

And this ‘green light’ that they’ve been given is a quote from MoPe along the lines of “I don’t know, everyone has a price, it’s up to the owners” when he was asked about selling VVD in Jan… quite different from “Hell, yeah, come and bid for him Liverpool, you’re very welcome”. ---
