:southampton: 🖼 Southampton - Past in pictures - places & people

I have started this thread, to share some of the pictures of the wonderful city that I grew up in. I have and pictures from other sources, from the many Southampton books that I have.

Please feel free to add your stories about a certain picture, add your own pictures, or even locate where the picture is, in some cases.

I hope that you enjoy this thread and please vote up the pictures that you find interesting, or that hold a special place in your heart, so I know which ones, that certain posters like and are relevant to them.

ENJOY, gods city!

It’s scary when you remember one or two of these old images quite vividly.

Mentioned on another thread, for anyone who visits Royal Victoria Park Netley, how it was…

I spent a lot of time in this store in my teens, first of all buying tapes, then CDs, but after 1993, I started working in the new Pizzaland which replaced it. It then changed to Bella Pasta around 1998 when whitbread bought out all the Pizzaland restaurants. As they already own Pizza Hut they changed it to Bella Pasta, now Bella Italia.

Oh the Pizzaland 1p vouchers!
